The case of the missing blood

One day, Louise went into a major hospital for a balloon procedure to open up blockages in the arteries in her heart. Following the procedure, her blood tests showed she needed blood replacement, even though she had no signs of bleeding outside her body. The nurses documented a mass in her leg next to the sight where medical instruments had been inserted. Louise received 12 units of blood without any documented explanation of where the doctor or nurses thought her blood was going. Louise died later that evening. The hospital and the doctor were either unable or willing to provide the family with answers to what had happened and why. The family asked the Girards Law Firm for help. The Girards Law Firm investigated and was able to determine that the doctor and nurses had not only caused Louise to bleed into her belly, but they failed to recognize what had happened so that the problem could be fixed before Louise suffered permanent harm. After the firm forced the doctor to admit to his actions and inactions, a settlement was reached sufficient to assure justice was done for Louise.

This case was settled for $2 million.
