Last Wednesday September 17, 2014, an Arkansas Highway Department worker, 59-year-old John Barefield, was killed by an 18-wheeler that ran over him as he was changing a stop sign at US Highway 49 and State Highway 20 around 9:30 a.m. The trucker reportedly was making a turn at the intersection when Barefield was struck.
