An 18-wheeler hauling rocks on Highway 290 near Bastrop TX was driving too fast for road conditions resulting in the driver having to swerve into oncoming traffic in order to avoid colliding with another truck. In doing so, a large load of rocks flew out of his truck striking a nearby driver, killing her. Our hearts go out to this family. This marks the latest needless death on Texas highways caused by 18-wheelers.
