A first of its kind study was recently published into how transmissible COVID is to humans. It is the first “human challenge” study, which is considered the gold standard technique.
The study shows the following:
1. The most miniscule amount of COVID virus, as little as a single airborne droplet from a person talking, coughing or sneezing will transmit the disease;
2. Viral shedding at high levels occurs within 2-days of exposure and lasts at least 10-days; and
3. Viral shedding occurs at high levels without respect to the existence, or severity, of symptoms of disease.
