Study: Night shift is sleep deprived and error-prone

A new study in the Journal of Nursing Administration examined the relationship between sleep deprivation and errors made on the night shift.Not surprisingly, the study found more than half of the night-shift nurseswere sleep-deprived. The study also showed they made more patient care errors. The researchers suggested efforts be made to increase the quality and quantity of sleep in this nuring population.
