The Texas Medical Board is notorious for failing to act against incompetent physicians. So, it got our attention when they suspended the license of Plano neurosurgeon Christopher Daniel Duntsch, MD. According to the Order, Duntsch caused the deaths of a number of patients in recent months due to improper pre-operative planning, ignorance of relevant anatomy, failure to recognize and address life-threatening complications he caused such as excessive bleeding and spinal cord injuries, as well as alcohol/drug abuse.
