An intersection in Early, Texas proved to be quite dangerous for a few drivers recently. Four different car crashes occurred at the intersection of Early Boulevard and Highway 183 North near the Heartland Mall, all within one hour.

The first accident was at 12:45 p.m. and ended up being relatively minor. It involved two vehicles that were both turning left onto Highway 183 from the left turn lane on Early Blvd. One of the vehicles cut across the lane and hit the second vehicle that was also turning left.

Seventeen minutes later at 1:02 p.m. a second accident occurred at the intersection. There were two vehicles in the outside eastbound lane that were traveling east, when the first vehicle stopped to make a right hand turn. The second car rear-ended the car that had stopped to turn. As soon as this accident happened, the car that was responsible for it was rear-ended by a city vehicle.

Finally, thirty-one minutes later at 1:33 p.m., a more serious accident happened. Early Chief of Police David Mercer said that officers responded to the accident and it happened when a motorcycle struck a pickup truck at the traffic signal. The woman driving the motorcycle had to be transported by Guardian EMS ambulance to the Brownwood Regional Medical Center, but her injuries appeared to be non-life threatening. People who witnessed the accident said that the pickup pulling a trailer ran the red light in front of the motorcycle, causing the crash.

Our thoughts go out the motorcycle rider who was injured.
