According to healthsystemtracker.org from January 2022 through September 2022, COVID19 remains the third highest cause of death in the United States behind only cancer and heart disease. Healthsystemtracker did not attempt to quantify those who have survived COVID19 but are left with significant disability or long covid.
The study is a reminder that COVID19 has not gone away and masking in public indoor spaces is still important as a matter of public health policy.
