On Monday April 15, the FDA issued a reminder that Fentanyl "Duragesic" Pain patches are still killing people.  Injuries and deaths occur when physicians don't understand which patients should and should not receive the patches.  They also occur from defects in the patches themselves resulting in overdoses. They occur when patients throw them away and someone, in some occasions children, pick them up and put them on their skin.  They also occur when a patient wears one while in a hot bath or under a blanket, since higher temperatures result in more medication delivery.
