In a new study, it is shown that hospitals with more RNs who have Bachelor's Degrees have lower postsurgical mortality. The problem is, how can the consumer find out which hospitals have more Bachelor's Degrees among the nursing staff? I tried to check with some local hospitals and could not find the answer. You can add this to the list of reasons why hospital secrecy laws should be changed so the consumer can find out the information needed to protect him- or herself.
