In a March 2023 decision, the Texas Supreme Court ruled on a case involving alleged misconduct by students that occurred before graduation but was discovered after graduation. The court ruled that the universities (UT and Texas State) had the power to revoke the degrees that had been issued so long as the alleged misconduct was pre-graduation and not post-graduation.
