A traveling radiology tech has been sentenced to 39-years in prison for infecting patient with Hepatitis C. He was a drug addict and was stealing Fentanyl in various hospitals he worked at, replacing the Fentanyl syringes with his used syringes that he had filled with saline. His syringes were infected with Hepatitis C. Many patients and their partners were infected and some have died. Unfortunately, hospital secrecy laws will prevent us from ever knowing how many opportunities were missed to detect the theft of narcotics by the hospitals that would have prevented such a widespread tragedy.  The FBI news release is available here.
