An 18-wheeler collision closed part of the Interstate 610 South Loop in Houston on Sunday, October 27, 2011. At 8:45am on the South Loop westbound at South Wayside the trucker failed to clear his blindspots and changed lanes in the rain resulting in the collision. The impact detached the cab from the 18-wheeler and left it in the middle of the freeway. He crashed into crashed into two vehicles.
